Here are a few of an AirTran 737-400 climbing out of LaGuardia on the way to Atlanta...Hope you enjoy shots from my home airport!

Lined up and ready to go at runway 13.  Today LaGuardia was using runway 13 for departures and runway 4 for arrivals...

Yes those old 737 classics are phased out, and if I'm not mistaken they are about or already have retired their DC9s in favour of the 717  ???

You are correct...they exclusively fly the 717 on mostly East Coast routes with most flights passing through KLGA and KATL.
