Is it considered taboo to post screenshots from IL-2 here?  I hope not :)  Im not sure this is the right place to post them, so please move this post if I'm wrong.  Here's some pretty nice shots I took last night:

Il-2 does look like I nice sim but I prefer CFS3. The models do look better than the CFS3 default though.

The P-51 in these pics is using a custom skin from IL-2 Skins.com.  Most of the default skins are nice, but the IL-2 fan community turns out some truly beautiful stuff.  Thats one of the reasons I like IL-2; anyone with an image editor (MS Paint will work) can design skins, since they are stored in .bmp format and require no editting of .cfg files; you just plop the .bmp into the directory for the aircraft and when you load up the game it's in the list of skins.  However, CFS does allow you to import custom planes.. and I've heard people say that CFS has more accurate flight models.

Aye the CFS3 FDs are more accurate (and I should know I wrote the Hurricane (Patrick D's) ones ;D)
Il-2 however does look nice. I'm thinking about giving it another go...

I prefer the flight model of IL-2 as well. Try pulling a 109 in a narrow turn. She'll begin spinning and if you're not high enough or if you cannot recover her, you're as good as dead. But with a little practising, you can pull her steadily at the edge to the "deadly spin". That "edge" is some violent shaking of the aircraft. Just keep it there and you're fine.

I only have one gripe with the 109 in IL-2, and its pretty much the only gripe I have with the game.  Seems like every time I take a 109 up, the very first bullet that hits me splatters oil (or some other black gunk) all over the windshield.  I take this as a death and refly the mission, since you can barely see enough to land, much less fight.

That'll happen to you in other fighters with liquid cooled engines as well.
