British summer

Flying my beloved Seafire III from Shoreham to Duxford in traditional English summer weather was a tad hairy
50 knot crosswinds, and more precipitation than the Atlantic

That is a v.large electrical sample ahead




Down safely, time to change my flightsuit (and yup it took two passes to land, the first one the crosswind was so bad I got blown off-course even with full rudder!)

Hasn't rained here all day. Not a single drop all week. The forecast doesn't look too good for tomorrow though.

That looks more like Shoreham - the FS9 version anyway. Pity about the bridge. It's in roughly the right place but that's all I can say for it.

Wonder why the rain is coming down vertically with the windsocks out straight.

the only problem i have with the spitfire III is that the air intake under the wing looks odd..should be one on other side or in the middle instead...great shots though. this is why i prefer the higher MK's up until they chopped the curve off the wing and made it look like a p51

Daz err there are no air-intakes under the wings of a Spit... there is the oil cooler, and the radiator

The first clipped wing Spits were locally modified MkVs in 1942/3 so it was not just later types that had clipped wings The clipped wing improved the roll rate and was normally applied to LF models although not all LFs had clipped wings fitted as the LF prefix was dictated by the engine fitted and not the type of wing. It gets confusing.
