I got a call to take a party of Scottish War Vets from Inverness down to Glasgow for a reunion. They wanted a last chance to fly in the aircraft they all used in one capacity or another during the war years. The venerable Dakota. I was glad to oblige. The route was down the Great Glen from Inverness to Fort William and then down through Glen Coe and over Rannoch moor. Basically following the route of the A82 Inverness - Glasgow road.
Lifting off from Inverness, gear comming up.

Doing some Nessy hunting over Loch Ness.

Ben Nevis off to Port.

As we passed over Ft William I allowed one of the vets to take control for the turn into Glen Coe.

As the sun started to set we passed over the threshold at Glasgow.

Securing the aircraft for the night... the return leg would be in the morning.

Enjoy
