I may be able to post a leg everyday for the rest of the week. ;D  Hooray for no school!!! ;D  Well, last Saturday we left of in Labraq, Libya at mid-afternoon;

Egypt only lay a few miles to my east, a little less than a hunderd.  But time was not on my side for this one.  Sure I could reach Alexandria and Cairo on one tank of gas, but the sun was sinking in the afternoon skies and there was only about two hours until nightfall.  This wouldn't be enough to make it.  But I could at least spend the night in Eygpt.

After refueling Peggy, I jumped in the cockpit and took off.

During the day all the cloulds had cleared out and the winds went home for the night.  It was perfect for flying.

Image

I could trim Peggy and just turn around to see a beautiful sunset.

The sun grew larger on the horizon and it's light got more and more scarce.

I returned to the "Captain's chair" as twilight came and went, and darkness took it's place.

As the sun left me for another day, and as I took my seat, I crossed the border into Egypt.

My trusty GPS lead me through the darkness to Matruh, Egypt.

I called the Matruh tower and got permission to land.  Peggy took her time floating down to the runway.  She was almost hesitant, or unsure if there was really runway just beneath us.

Well, there was, and I greased it in for my best landing of the day.  I taxied to parking and left refueling for the morning.

Hopfully tomorrow I will get the next leg up.  I finally reach Cairo, and all the heat and sand is worth what I see along the Nile!

Here are the last ten legs if you missed them:

Yes it is much better than last time!  ;D Excellent pics! One question...does your AC (Peggy) have exterior lights such as strobe, Nav, and beacon? I've noticed that at night they don't show...just wonering  :). Well, I'm glad your off for break and away from your crappy English teacher, lol.
