Roger's Pass

Postby birdie » Wed Apr 07, 2004 3:17 pm

A quick and beautiful flight from Golden, B.C. to Revelstoke, B.C. following the Trans-Canada Hwy which took me through Rogers Pass.  Most of the flight I was in about a mile wide valley with the valley floor at about 1600-2000 ASL.  Rogers Pass is a little tighter than that and the Hwy is at about 5000 ASL.  Cheers!

Those are some really intreresting shots, I love how the mountain winds around the sides of the hills like that :)
Very nice work!  I want to go fly that route now ;) ;D

P.S.- What airport is the closest to that highway?

Thanks guys.  It is Holger Sandmann's mesh and scenery enhancement.  I will post some shots of some of the airports that he enhanced later today but I don't have time right now, sorry.  It is wonderful scenery though.

Dean, what you gonna be doin going through Rogers Pass ?....I've done it three times and all three were lucky to get by without a snowy encounter....

Hey Ken, I have a wedding to go to in Victoria in a couple weeks....
I know what you are saying about that Pass....many a avalanche delays and complete white outs where we had to stay right at the hotel at the top of the pass... :o

Looking forward to it though!
