The aircraft: F-16C-52
The mission: TARCAP (Clearing the target zone of enemy aircraft, so that another flight can conduct a ground attack without having to care about enemy aircraft).
This seemed to become a normal mission. Into the target area. Patroling until the other flight has finished its attack. Heading home. Nothing more, nothing less.
But that'd be too easy, wouldn't it?
Everything was normal, just until Sentry (the AWACS guys) told us to attack on a flight of some MiG-21s and MiG-23s. Me and my wingman (Callsign: "Cobra 11" and "Cobra12") immediately left our "normal" flight path and turned into the direction of the enemies.
We shot the MiG-23s and some of the MiG-21s down with our AIM-120s,but the '21s were closing in damned fast. After having fired three AA-2s at me,they dropped their superfluous external weapons and prepared for a classical dogfight.
At first it seemed that I still was in control of the situation...

..but those buggars could somehow get behind me.

I really had trouble in keeping them out of their gun range, but after having dropped my external fuel tanks,I could use the full range of the F-16s manueuverability.
At that point, the MiGs had seperated themselves. One was still after me,the other one was dogfighting with my wingman.
Anyways,I outturned my enemy...

..and followed him below the clouds.

Then,I lost the visual contact to him,not knowing that he was right behind me! (Normally, this is a deadly mistake, but I was lucky) :o

Instead,I encountered a flight of Mi-24s which gladly ignored me.

After some more turns,I managed to get visual contact to the MiG again. I got right behind him and fired an AiM-9 on him. The result was a nice fireball...

I took a look around, just to see my wingman (already out of ammo) messing around with the other MiG-21.
The Korean guy seemed to have lost the interest in my wingman,so I told Cobra 12 to rejoin the formation.
But two minutes later,I saw the MiG coming right after us. I turned to face her and launched an AIM-120.

Seeing the exploding missile and the MiG with a large smoke trail was quite relieving, because new enemies were in the area and I didn't want to face them with just one missile left for the whole flight.
So me and my wingman were heading home ASAP.

The result of this mission:
Actual goal: Failed, because we never really were in the target area.
Air-to-Air kills for this flight: 7 (me 4;wingman 3)
Sorry for the extremely bad quality of the pics. I can't properly use Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering in Falcon 4.
Nevertheless,I hope you enjoyed the story at least a bit.
