Sock Flies Europe: Leg IX

In last weeks posting I found myself refueling in Carthage....
Ten minutes after reaching the pumps, I was climbing back up in Peggy and getting ready for my next leg.
The sky was still clear, but the winds had picked up a couple of knots.
Once on the active I advanced the throttle and was off and on my merry way...

It was a nice day for flying. You could see for miles and miles. To the west was Tunisia, and to the east I could see Sicily.

For awhile I contemplated turing to Sicily, and forgeting about the deserts. But only for a moment.
So I continued south down the eastern coast of Tunisia. I eventually took a short cut and cut across the sea to reach Tripoli faster.

I made land fall about an hour and 15 minutes after leaving Carthage. I was only a few miles west of Tripoli, I banked left and scanned the horizon for the city.

About 45 minutes later I found myself in Tripoli, Libya. Much like Carthage, it wasn't much of a city, but it too bosted an airport.

I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing, and I flared a bit early.
Peggy hit the runway hard, throwing everthing in the cockpit about.

I had to refuel and then clean up the little mess I made.
Next I'll set out for Labraq, Libya and beyond!
Thanks for watching and here are the last eight legs if you missed them;
