A long row of F-18's on the ramp!(1 shot)

Postby EricK » Fri Apr 02, 2004 1:07 am

Hi there,
Just one shot. Working on an AFCAD for an airbase full of F-18's doing circuits! Should have some great shots when I get it working well!
Thanks
Eric

that looks awesome man!

about the FPS...this probably creates a serious drop of fps. when i fly this hornet on my system, i already see my fps going down...so if i'm going to add this plane to my AI, i'll get a slideshow... ;)

sweet.
about the FPS problems, I was getting about 5-8 with the original panel but I've replaced it with an older panel and I'm now getting 25FPS, also replaced the sounds with those from an F-15  8)

guys, simple fix to the AI frame rate issue.

copy the original entire folder, rename it AI_SuperHornet or sometime different from the original.

REMOVE THE PANEL FOLDER
Then go into each texture folder and remove all VC.BMPs, these aren't needed for AI planes.

Then go into the aircraft.cfg and at the title line add AI at the end of each line. Use this in your AI list of planes.

extitle=Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II 633 AI

next change the UImanufacturer to AISuperHornet. This way you will see a different entry in your AC listing and will know if each AC is showing up or not.

I did this to all of my AI aircraft and it made a HUGE difference for the frame rates, especially KO's Viper and the Corel F-15  ;)

Eric, besure to add these skins. I'll be doing a NAS Fallon AI aggressor package for sure  8)
Super Hornet Aggressors are already available for NAS Fallon  ;)

killer from what I've heard.

There are some "fixes" over on SIMHQ's FS2004 forum regarding the VC gauges and such

Thanks for the replies guys!

As far as FPS. It is a killer. I turned my settings up to get this particular shot, but when I am flying I turn my settings down quite a bit. It works OK. I also remove the panels.

Planespotter, I will try renaming them as well. Hopefully, I can get the framerates up a little. Its flyable now, but I would like to be able to turn the settings back up to my normal area.

Those skins look incredible, I'm off to download those now. Thanks alot!

Outstanding Eric. When I get some time I'll be playing with this one with my carriers so I'll be interested to see how FR goes.

Certainly Dino's Tomcat is no problem and presently I don't see why this should be too much different as they are both detailed models.

Anyway, we'll see.
