Blasts from the past!

hi all,

Recently I added the I3DTeam Rockwell B1B Lancer to my hanger. Just like I expected this plane has all kinds of untweaked bugs in it.

All in all these are the files that needed to be downloaded for it.

The base aircraft
The texture package (which seems to not work in FS9)
The sound file package
The sidewinder feedback patch
the sweeping wings fix
The FS9 patch

You know what after all these downloads, I get a heavy that can't even get off the ground because it accellerates too slow down the runway! Has anyone corrected this problem! becuase I am quickly seeing why I gave up on this plane in FS2002!

Sammy

Yup had the same problems ...

You need to use afterburners and read the manual for takeoffs.

Unless you have a sidewinder joystick you dont need the sidewinder fix.

I will look into the take off manuel to see what I am doing wrong  ;D

I think they are getting sick of me crashing B1's into the ocean at the end of the runway and fishing them out! :o

takeoff: full flaps, then 2x partial retract. light burners too and get the balance right in the fuel loading menu

To light the burners, bring up the throttle quadrant and hit the 4 buttons at the bottom.  then go outside and take alook!

But what I found strange boeingman is that the afterburners light up when i turn on the light system on the plane. What 4 buttons are you talking about?

Hello there....
The manual explains the flight characteristics of this aircraft and the limitations within FS2002. The aircraft does fly within FS9.
The burners, personally, i would assign a key to engage/disengae them to ensure that you have them available.
Hope this helps

Do you know what key they are currently assigned to. That way I can change it to a specific key? Thanks for your help I will give it a whirl. My patience with this plane is running thin! She is a beauty though, that is the only reason why I keep it around  ;D!

Sitting on the runway with 0 throttle! (why do the afterburner lights stay on when I haven't engaged full thrust)

Image
Found the throttle guadrant (Shift+2) and pressed all four buttons under the throttles and engaged full thrust!

Image
Finally got her to get off the ground straight take off! ;D

Image
Just as I was starting to feel that the quirks were gone  :), the plane started kinking to the right, I fought the controls to swing it back to the left. :o Then the plane started doing a bugged out flip on me ???!

Image
Then it was like God let go the planes gravity and it dropped out the sky like it had no thrusts to keep it airborne anymore  :-/

Yet another B1b unsuccessful story  :'(

What is up with this panel!

The artifcial horizon guage isn't lined up right the digital readout is not lined up right. Are these correctable through the panel cfg.

Hi Mav, I've had the same problem but gave up on it. The panel should be easy to correct through the panel cfg using cfg edit.
