The most troublesome airport!!

Postby francsal » Tue Mar 02, 2004 6:33 pm

I read somewhere that this airport was really difficult... had to give it a try. ;) (Ecuador - SESM)

As you can see, the field is surrounded by mountains, and they are about 2,500 feet high!

To make a long story short, I was partially succesful at it. However, when trying to fly one last time to (I tought) take a glamorous final shot, well, take a look at the last pic.

Again, any comments are welcome.

P.S. Damn SiS chipset... ;D ;D ;D

Yeah I got the FSD Pilatus Porter. Its the best bush plane ever I reckon! loads of power to carry out steep climbs, and it can land at really small strips due to its slow speed capabilities.  Here's a few pics!

Looks a place only too take your hilo or harrier!

Seems there are a lot of those in FS and in the world.  The Doherty's approaches packages at AVSIM have quite a few in them that I've flown.  Gives a good excuse to nose dive a 757!!

You have to wonder:  if there's a big flat plateau around, why build in the pit?

I managed to get an F16 out of there. Just rammed the throttle home and whoooosh! Out.

On the more spectacular side I did get a Lancaster out aswell. And a Tigermoth. :D

Yeah, after the frustration on getting the 172 out, I decided to "cheat" a bit and do it on an F-15... piece of cake.... And with the cessna, well I actually managed to get out of the bowl, but when I tried to fly over it to take a pic from the top, well the little bugger didn
