Radar indeed it is, like this version of the lightning, lol i think that Antoine DeSaint Exuppery (author of The Little Prince) was shot down by a Fw190 while doping a recon mission on a french lightning...i read the story somewhere a while ago, very tragic $:-\$

That first shot is really nice.

My first guess would be it is a night interceptor with radar.
