With a great deal of mixed emotions I set my flight plan for the last leg of my adventure.  :) ??? :-[ :'(
I dialed in the settings for Calgary and loaded up the Baron. Although I was very excited to get home, I was also very saddened to realize this was the last part of a wonderful learning experience.

***Check out the number totals at the bottom too!***

Flight Details for this leg...
Image

The completed route map!
Image

Well....I loaded up the Baron and got the engines warmed up. It was a foggy, rainy, cold day in Courtenay.
Image

Rifleman was kind enough to come and see me off! He took this nice snapshot! Nice.....
Image

As I got up to cruise level and kicked on the AP, I just enjoyed the view! The nice Rocky Mountains quickly came into view.  By the surrounding mountains, I knew i was getting close to home!!
Image

After cresting the last mountain and heading into the foothills...I finally flew over Calgary! I never realized how much I missed home until I saw the city again...Welcome Home!
Image

Well, then the excite set in! There was no way I was just going to land as normal and shut down...
After confirming with the Tower, I was permitted to put on a little "Honey, I'm Home!" show!

So the first pass was just low, slow, gear down, pass with the smoke on!
Image

The next pass was a couple high speed, steep banks! YEEE-HAAA!!
Image

And for the finale...a high speed barrel roll!
Image

Then it was time to land and go greet my friends and family that i have not seen in a very long time!
Got her lined for final...gears down..
Image

Flaring just above the pavement...(alot of pressure on t his landing as all my friends and family were watching!)
Image

Finally got her parked, secured and shutdown for the final time! Quickly opened the door and ran out to say hi! Got soooo many stories to tell.... ;D
Image

So....after a long, exciting, terrifying yet incredibly enjoyable adventure...here are the details!

Total Legs:                        20
Total Distance:                  8142.5 NM's
Total Actual Flying Hours:  43hrs 48min

Thanks everyone who watched and commented on this trip! I was a total blast and I think that everyone should at least try it!

Thanks again....

Cherokee

well done! but one question: did you really fly the whole distance yourself? did you use the autopilot and did you set the simulation rate a bit higher? if not, how many hours did you fly during your 20 trips?  ;)

Thanks Everyone for your kind comments!! I have no idea what I am going to next! I had a couple ideas in mind but they don't seem so great now....I  plan to take a break and just do some local flying and carefully plan out my next adventure.  ;D

Glad to see you and the baron made it home in one peice. :)

I  plan to take a break and just do some local flying and carefully plan out my next adventure.

Planing, thats for losers! ;)  Just take off and see where it takes you, thats what I do.  Thats why all my flights are VFR.

On your next adventure, maybe you should take a trip to the warther region of the western hemisphere.  Just fly down though though the US and Mexico to South America!  Could be interesting.  But no flight plans!!  VFR ONLY!! ;D

Methinks Cherokee should go for a Around the Americas trip. He already has northern NA complete (Canada) now he just has to fly down to the tip of SA and back up :D
