Fall is in the "Classic" Air

It was a beautiful morning as I put a log on the fire, made a pot of coffee, and took in the fresh Autumn air. I knew today would be a nice day for flying. I purchased an old aircraft  from Classic Air recently and started my own airline here in Alaska. I fly her 4 times a day from Kodiak Bay to Anchorage. I told Ol' Billy Bob to keep the fire burning and I would be back around noon. There were some park Rangers I would be ferrying about today. I went outside and fired up the DC-3's big engines as my "work day" began.

Image

I slowly rolled the aircraft to the end of the gravel runway as I took in the colors of the season. I lined her up with the runway and Ol' Billy Bob gave me the green light to take off.

Image

As I sped down the dirt runway, the DC-3's big wheels started to do their dance bouncing up and down as I pulled back on the stick.

Image

As the huge wings of the aircraft grasp the autumn's air, I gently pull back and turn her out over Chiniak Bay as I head towards Anchorage.

Image

I level her off as the two engines rotate to my left and to my right. I crack open the side window to take in what the season has to offer, clean air, bright blue skies and a hot cup of coffee for my hour and a half flight.

Image

I pass the Eastern most point of Woody Island, it is open seas from here on out. The only signs of life might be an occasional tanker delivering Alaskas's precious resources, or some marine life. Last week I saw a group of whales and some sea lions playing out in the Gulf of Alaska. What a nice sight that was.

Image

My last turn, from here on in it is straight and level flying to Anchorage. It should be a nice flight. I do hope I see the whales again.

If you are ever in Anchorage, look us up. The flight to Kodiak is wonderful and the Island has a lot to offer. Just make sure You fly Classic Air!!
Ol' Billy Bob will have the coffee on and a warm seat next to the fire. This time of the year is always a welcome season. Autumn is in the "Classic Air".

Hope you enjoy your flight......................

Great screenshots Dave!

Alaska is one of my favorite places to fly. Little traffic, and wonderful sites and those shots prove how great it is

Nice paint job. This is one fine example of good textures being mixed with a great model. I like shot number 4 most of all.

I think I need to clear something up, I did not repaint this, but thanks anyway! I got it at Avsim as a repaint of the default!
As always, I appreciate all comments.
I was just saying "my" airline to coincide with my story.

I am going to fix it to say,"the aircraft I purchased from Classic Air" LOL!!
I love the colorful trees for the fall season!
Thanks guys!

Great job, Fly!  Sitting here in my house I can taste that fresh-brewed coffee and feel the warm sun and the cold shadows of autumn.  You really brought those shots to life.  Very well done . . .

I knew that. I was just commenting on the designers work. I still think #4 is a good shot on your part though.

Thank you!!
I am transmitting from the fire  place sipping a hot cup of coffee with a splash of Jamesion. Me and Ol' Billy Bob are going out to meet some fine young Eskimo ladies I brought back here. They are from the National Marine Conservatory and are here to see the migration of the Humback whales.
Thanks again..............
We're outta here!!!
