Dumb Question on a Popular Topic

What's with the 'flights around the world' in narrative prose, as if someone was actually doing it?  I often imagine myself doing something while flying, but never had I before considered writing that stuff down and posting here.

Now I'm curious.

What's the draw?  Do people here actually want to know what my fantasies of flight are?  Do people want to see screenshots of my pasttimes, or would I be wasting my time?  I've done a Twin Otter flight from Chicago to Rome, in about 12 legs - I do a lot of carribean to east coast runs, and some Aleutian and Everest flying.

Would anyone want to see another "round the world" story, or are there enough already?

Would anyone want to see a 50 States tour?

How about An Airliner Story - 777 to All Countries, in Alphabetical Order?

What do people want to see here?

Most people around here are happy to see pictures of whatever you would like to take them of. Just take pics everytime you go flying and post them and people will love 'em. Happy flying!

Untill someone wiser and bettter versed in the practice of flight narratives posts, I will endeavorer to explain why I do it.
Many times I have either found a new plane or an airport that has something unique, that I would like to share. The story help give the who, what , where, and why of the pictures, and serves to inform others as to why you think they would like to fly the same plane to the same places you just did. The story provides a nice way of sharing with others, whom you've grown to know, sometimes, only by what and where they fly. Also, unless you have tried it, some of these flights of fancy are really hard to pull off, and it becomes a challange to see if you can fly as well as your friends.

That's why I do it.

Hi,

I just wanted to say that i prefer some text around screenshots. For example where and when, what plane,...

Don't know if anyone reads the stuff i write in my screen post, but i like doing it.

But no-one should feel obliged to do the same.

I think it brings some variation to the posts, and can sometimes explain something on the shots.

And if you don't like that kind of posts, you can always ignore them. It's a free country ( world) after all!

Actually, I do like reading them.  Just wondered why others did too.  Thanks, all.

Personally....I like to read the story behind the flight because for most of us here...its the closest thing to actually taking that kind of flight!

Besides being filled with priceless knowledge about Flight Siming, these forums are a wonderful break from reality for me. I enjoy reading about someones trip to Alaska or trips to exotic locations....and the story behind it makes it that much better!

thats just my thoughts.... ;D ;D ;D

I like to look at the screenshots, because it is a great way to know if something is worth visiting, downloading, etc.  And so knowing the who and what of a screenshot is very essential.

Yeah, it's like George Lucas has always said, graphics and special effects arent any good unless there's a story to tell. ;)

Then it's settled.  Coast-To-Coast, my way.  In the blimp.
