Leg one: Round the world trip

Postby michaelb15 » Thu Jan 01, 2004 5:02 am

Well, it all started on Dec 31, at about 4:30. . . I am sorry that half of them are during the night, but the traffic getting to the airport was tremendous ::) ::)

I will always do it VOR to VOR, unless there is no VORs in the area, then it will be direct GPS. . . . I also fly real weather

Well, ok, the first leg, is from CYYB (north bay ontario) to KJFK, (Nwe York, New York)
This leg is 436.8 NM, and 3 hrs long.

There I am, sitting on the ramp, getting the engines warmed up, and all of the avionics turened on.

After waiting 5 minutes for some other traffic, it is finally my turn to take off

Pretty neat!
I'm planning a trip around the U.S. try to hit all major cities in each state. I think I might start out in Maine just because while flying westward I have a little more daylight, "chasing the sun!"  And FYI "The city that never sleeps is actually Las Vegas" but you are right though I don't think New York sleeps much either!! :)

Good luck with the trip! I am on leg 3 of a trip in a Maverick personal jet, taking me from my home base of Shoreham in the UK, around Europe and all points east via North Africa, where I am at the moment.

Also, I'm doing a round-the-USA trip in Boeings, currently heading from San Juan PR to Rhode Island in the POSKY 757.

Er, and a round-Europe trip in Airbuses!

Happy new year, all!

:)
