30/12/2003 Leg 5: Finally!

Postby Omag 2.0 » Tue Dec 30, 2003 11:27 am

Hi all!

Well, i took me about 2 days to get a flight out of Iceland! Annoying winter schedules, Iceland air only flies to JFK, Boston, ... or Europe! Not to Greenland as i planned! Bummer...

But then i met some French scientists who were on route to Thule - Greenland. They had chartered a Air Greenland Beechcraft King air, and i could join them if i wanted! OF COURSE! Lets go!

Flight from Reykjavik (Iceland) to Kangerlussuaq ( Greenland) - Refuel stop in Kulusuk ( Greenland) ( Who invents these names....?)

At the gate in Reykjavik

Flying away from Iceland!

Level flight, enjoying the little sun we can catch this time of year...
Image

Relaxing, isn't it... I forgot all my troubles
Image

Is that tiny white spot an iceberg???
Image

Whow! Sun clouds and snow, nice view ...l

Approach of Kulusuk - Not what you call an international airport ...

At the gate, time to refuel

I'am not quite sure when we will arrive in Kangerlussuaq, you'll see when i post...

Bye

Btw: How great is FS9 - when comming out of the clouds in the snow, with some sun and the first view on Greenland, while Chris Isaac is playing a wicked game on the radio ... Heavenly! I don't think no other program has ever touched me like that...
