Someone is having his licence taken away

Postby Nuno » Tue Dec 23, 2003 9:03 pm

As I was approaching LPPT on my C152 on finals I had nearly a heart attack when some irresponsible guy decided to overtake me in a very dangerous manoevre.

Sorry about the poor quality but I think this is something we don't see every day :)

I hope I never see it. The wake turbulence would be a killer. Old eyes don't see well, but looks like only about 1500 ft to play with, hope you got down in one peice, if not, I hope you had really good insurance, or death benifits for the family you left behind.  ::)

Nuno: this happens more often than you might think, albeit not usually THAT close! ::)

I had one awhile back, and being in the H-1 at the time, I just gave the butthole that did it a seizure by buzzing his cockpit. ;D

Did he flash his lights at you and honk before he overtook? (and maybe give you the finger upon passing..) That would be cool, if they did that
LOL
Great shot

You know That specific airline has a habit of doing that. I aint kidding atleast twice on landings that exact plane tries to cut infront of me on Final. The ATC must be telling him to go around at the last second on approach. Because as fast as he cut me off, he always breaks off at the last minute as we both approach the runway.

They do need to take their licence away1
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!

Sorry, but isn't that an Airbus 319? I'm pretty sure it is as TAP doesn't fly other aircrafts than Airbus ???

Yes indeed, he was told by the ATC to go around at the last moment. I managed to get down allright but it was one of my most complicated landings ever: first time flying that plane, heavy crosswinds, rudder not working and a stuttering screen with all the PAI aircraft on the ground and the add-on scenery for LPPT ::)

But one of my must enjoyable landings ever nevertheless. ;)
