****Project Porsche****

I have just uploaded the completed package of Project Mercedes so that it can be posted tomorrow on the 16th.

Just today, I have started a new project.

*Project Porsche*

It is the Gmax-construction of the Porsche 911 GT2. It will include the same features [and more] as the last project.

Here is a screenshot so that you can see clearly how it looks like:

Image

It will also be made using the "Spline" method. With this tool, I am able to make curves that are considered impossible for "boxes" and "cylinders".

I will not predict on the release date until the time is right.

Since I am leaving for the USAF in one and a half months [don't ask], it will possibly take another year for me to complete it. Sorry. :(

Project Mercedes was just a step forward in learning how to do "Extreme Modeling" with Gmax. So, Project Porsche will be the next big step forward.

Well, I'm going to the USAF because it was the only place that gives the best deal for college.

I tried going to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida. But I found out it was expensive as h377. $35,000 for the first year and that's just for the aircraft flight training.

Financial aid can't cover that and I don't trust those so-called "loans".

I then tried going to Miami Dade Community College in Kendall Campus and in Homestead Campus. But those people are complicated as h377. I mean, I had to make more appointments and do more tests than I ever did in my life time. Not only that, I had to find a job to pay for the costs. Not to mention $35,000 more for the 2 years of flight training in Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport. Yes, there is also a Miami-Dade in that airport too. ;D

Many college and university students will surely call this "academic suicide". :-[

From here on, all I can say is this: Joining the USAF was my last resort.

My mom got hyped up and pissed after hearing me say "Mom, I wanna go to the USAF now." ;D

he might make cars for flightsim but he aint that weird!

Anyways, You're right.

I may be weird for being the first extreme modeler of cars for FS9, but I am not that weird. ;D

I have some updated pics of the Porsche. I'll post those ASAP.

Here they are.

This is how it looks like right now.

And this is how it looks like with the polygons visible. You can imagine the poly count.

What do you think? ;D

lol now thats looking good.

btw, not a newbie but even so- i see on the pic you have like the 3 views on polys on the 3d view: is this how you are modelling? could you explain it a little please. usually i just use the diagram as a window background.. out of proportion and all that.

Go to:

www.onnovanbraam.com

Go to where it says "Tutorials" at the top. Then click on "Blueprint Setup".

From here, you should see complete instructions on how to setup the 3-view images.

Note:

All tutorials on the website refers to 3Ds Max. Since 3Ds Max is the big brother of Gmax, there should be no problem for understanding the tools being used. Just remember that 3Ds Max has more features than Gmax.

The hardest part about making the Mercedes on my last project was the "front bumper" and "grill" of the car.

For Project Porsche, it's going to be a whole lot harder for me on the front due to the instense curves that exist on the front.

Thanks to my prior experience for the Mercedes, the Porsche should be no problem.

This project will have more features than the Mercedes.

It will have everything that the Mercedes has plus:

1. Adjustable Mirrors
2. Adjustable Seats
3. Animated cd player
4. Night-Time effects
5. New rim variations
6. Improved texture files for those who want to repaint
7. New driver with textures

You know what. I think it will be real great if someone here is willing to make a scenery for add-on cars. You know, so that many can race online in FS.

It will be even better if we had a nice long highway for the more serious races.

After I'm done with the Porsche, I'm a also planning on making a F1 [Formula One] racer. Just name it.

However, you all know how much patience it's going to take to finish this.

lol Kat, nice Porsche.

thanks for the link also.

i think, tbh, that guy basically uses Renders to make the cars look a lot better. if you took your model into 3ds max and rendered it with the right stuff you could also get it looking like that.

used to do a bit of work with 3ds.. that was with Halflife though.
