Fieseler Storch

Just out side Casablanca, looking for Rick's place.

The aircraft is nice, but the crew does not look like they belong to the Africa Korp, or the German military, maybe they can be repainted.
I found that if you put down full flaps you can almost float down, I bet in a strong headwind you could fly backwards. Takes off in a matter of yards. Real fun fly, if you like low and slow.

Nice one Fido. Is this the Ground Crew model? They have one of these at Duxford and it really is a very, very short take off and landing aircraft.

Hope you give it a try, it is truly a fun fly.
HawkerTempest:
I don't know,  all the d/l said was it was a FISELER FI-156C STORCH 1%. There are recon. and medical versions.
I am going to try an repaint the crew, but have never do anything like that before, so, they may end up bigheads or noheads or heaven knows what. :o  If they turn out less then hiddious, I'll post a closeup.

Nice one.

The Groundcrew Fieseler Fi 156C Storch was done by my old friend Greg Law.
http://www.groundcrewdesign.com/cfs2planes.htm
It was one of the first 3rd party aircraft (probably the 3rd ever with his He 177 the 2nd) with a proper DVC. Yours truly cobbled up the DP for both aircraft in Notepad as there was no suitable DP editor at the time. The Storch was originally created in FSDS1 so would not be fully FS9-compatible. If it's an AvHistory version it's possible the MDL has been SCASM edited as I suspect is the case with their P-51B.

Just one thing guys. I'm not saying this particular Storch is the Greg Law version or even based on it. I'm almost certain a completely different one was released afterwards for FS2002. It's not likely the earlier GC CFS2 aircraft will be suitable for FS9.

There's a FS2002/FS2004 Fieseler Fi-156C Storch over at flightsim. Filename is 'fi156_fs.zip'. I'm guessing this is it ;)

...flying a Fi156C at about thirty mph is amazing. :o

yup, that's why this plane was so useful...it just needed grass strips of about 200m.

Silent. Which version do you have? The Groundcrew one I posted the link to might cause problems in FS9. I haven't tried either of them.
