That BAe avroliner is looking sweet - tell me tell me - where did it come from, and most important, does it have a VC?

The 'Avroliner' is available here, I heard it called a 'Whisper jet' somewhere.
http://www.arnz.cjb.net/
Its on the Aircraft page and is the BAe 146-200.

Unfortunately it doesn't have a VC. You've all been missing out! Its got a stunning model and paint, doesn't affect the frame rates and is great fun to fly! Its also very fast - 500kias if you don't mind that terrible bleeping noise! These guys deserve some recognition, its a stunning piece of work!

If anybody is interested, if you could do a nice quality repaint of the Lancair legacy in any other colour other than pinky purple I would be extremely grateful!

Nice one Bird man. It seems you have a very wide taste in aircraft - like me. ;)

The BAe 146, Avro RJ70, Avro RJ, Avro RJX or whatever you might like to call it was originally the HS 146. It was intended as a DC-3 replacement & designed & originally built at Hatfield. The BAe 146-100  first flew on September 3rd, 1981. The DH 125, BAe 125, Raytheon/Beech Hawker 800 has a similar history. Ironic how the last successful De Havilland designs ended up being marketed under the Avro & Hawker names. ::)
Sadly this demonstrates the demise of the British aircraft industry since the mid-60s. >:(

The final Avro RJ to be produced was delivered on 26th November 2003. This brings the total number of BAe 146 and Avro RJs delivered to 390.

Thanks for that Hagar, its always nice to know about the plane your watching/flying. How succesful is 390 compared to others of its genre? While I was at Bristol the other day there were quite a few of them.

I think it would be great to have a peep' into others 'hangar of favorites'. Its sort of like a review with no words and less work!

I agree the Aero Comander has one of the best VC's, I was going to post a picture of it with this lot but accidently deleted it, never mind. If anybody wants it, its available at Avsim.

Hi Bird man. Hope you don't mind my added comments. Sometimes I just can't resist it. ::)

I wouldn't think that 390 is too bad for a small British airliner. This is no comparison with what would be considered successful for a similar type in the US. I believe that far more of the HS 125 & variants were produced over a longer period of time. To give you some idea, 544 examples of the earlier DH.104 Dove/Devon & 148 of its 4-engined big sister the DH.114 Heron were produced. (44 being operated by Prinair) I was once involved with product support for all these aircraft.

We know, we know! I think you do a great job!
I have never heard of most of those so off I go to Airliners.net again to see what all these planes are - it keeps me busy!  ;)
