60 year old working girl

i know i post shots of this bird more frequently than any other plane in my hangar, but everyone seems to at least not be annoyed by my admiration of this fine aircraft.  after all... i still see DC3's flying cargo and passengers regularly at the airport where i work, that gives them more longevity than the venerable B-52. call me a romantic, but i'd much rather hear the low rumble of radials than the whine of jet engines.
here's a couple of shots from my approach into Nice after a long flight from Stutgart.
iwas pretty weary after a six hour afternoon flight as i lazzily turned into the pattern Image knowing i could rest soon i settled into a south bound leg along the coast Image i just reached the calm waters turning base to watch the sunset Image straining to keep my eyes open on short final Image one last look at the sunset before it ducks behind the mountains Image i was so tired i that the line crew had to point out that i had forgotten to shut the door Image it was a good day to fly with an old lady.
hope you enjoyed the pics. ( i'm trying to work on getting sharper quality )

comments are always welcome

That last shot is a classic! I am just now picturing the actress coming down the stairs with reporters' flashlights going off.
