After recently purchasing my "Captain Sensible" DH Beaver float plane, and getting it fixed by our senior engineer, Mr. Hagar, I thought to myself "I really need a little bit of excitement as well, in my advancing years..."...

So...
I popped out to see my friendly aircraft supplier at San Francisco Airport, had a browse around, and bought...
...a brand new, yellow, ACA Super Decathlon, aerobatic, 180 HP, beauty!
Woo, flippin' Hoo...

Filling up the fuel tanks at Sonoma Valley. Weather perfect...

Crusin' in the blue and havin' fun, big smile...

Overflying Napa County Airfield, tipped the wings...

Travis Air Force Base in front. Got clearance to land, (I hope)....

Ready to land. Two whites, two reds, looking good, ready to flare..

Topping up the tanks at Travis AFB amongst the huge Hercules C-130's...

Taking off again. After lots of practice, trying a bit of aerobatics, as you do, rotating scenery, brain expoloding, tummy in a turmoil....

Landed safely back, all in one piece, at Sonoma Valley, heart slowing down, motor cooling off, a pat on the back from my mates, and ready for a nice cool glass of beer in the FBO...!
Fantastic day out with my new baby.
