A nice Seafire 47 from FS2k shoved into 2k2, and it works a treat ;D

Oh, what memories

That Seafire was one of my favourite aeroplanes in FS2000 :( :-/

Lovely

Looks like a repaint of the Alphasim free Seafire 47 to me. It's almost certainly an AF99 model (originally intended for FS98 ) but excellent quality. I noticed the P tail letter. Maybe Ozzy did it specially for Pippin. ;)

Cool, but I doubt the wings fold. I'm not saying that for certain, but, if it was originally designed for FS98 as Hagar said, then it's unlikely the wings fold.

But I might be wrong ;)

On this model the wings don't fold, but on my Seafire III for 2k2 they do, and v.pretty it looks sitting on the deck ;D
This model was made by Chris Lampard specifically for 2k (its available here in downloads). I've taken a few liberties and changed the 2d cockpit for one from a 2k2 Spit and aliased the sounds to my Griffon engine sound pack.

Ozzy. I'm sure it's the same as the Alphasim version. This also has a DP & works fine in CFS2. I know Chris did some work for them. Check it out sometime. It's only a small file.

This plane is surprisingly nice considering it's age.  I took it for a spin yesterday.  Mark, if the Seafire is the carrier based Spitfire, why is your Spit crashing on a carrier?

Cos he messed up bigtime. This was nothing unusual, especially on straight decked carriers. Naval aviation is dangerous.

PS. The plane in Mark's sig is a Seafire. BTW
Note the arrester hook. (Proper British spelling).

You're correct, of course.  It must be a MkIII.  Later versions had the hook behind the tail wheel... :P

All the Alphasim stuff is good quality as it was originally payware. Instead of dumping their old files when the new sims came along they were good enough to post them as unrestricted freeware.

While the freeware files are old AF99 models without the latest features I always felt that Phil Perrott & the guys never got the credit they deserved for their generosity. ::)
