Fozzers new Beaver!

Here are a couple of pics of my latest de-Haviland Beaver with it's  new panel re-fit.... ;D...!
(from Avsim.com)... ;)...!
Ready for taxi to the active runway at Los Angeles...

Image

A flight over the Hollywood sign, en-route from KLAX to Van Nuys AFB...

Image

...and if you have admired my pictures so far, and I have got your attention, here is the crafty reason why I posted them.... ;)...!

Image

Notice the grey area in the window in the front-left 3/4  view...?
The whole of the view in the front-right 3/4 view is also blanked out.
(The remaining views are OK).
It is a common occurence in some panel views, due sometimes to an omission by the designer of making the windows a transparant colour.
Will some Paintshop Pro user tell me which colour I have to flood the windows with to make them transparent, and should it be a "foreground" or "background" colour...?

...there, wasn't I a crafty little devil... ;D...?
LOL...!

Cheers all... ;D...!
Paul.

Hi Foz. Nice panel. I've not come across your problem before. Is this an FS2000-style panel with extra static view windows or a DVC? If it's the panel the colour is True Black. If it's the DVC I have no idea.

Hi Ozzy and Hagar...!
It's a  new FS 2002 panel, and the views are the 2D bit map series of views included in the Panel folder, (no DVC views).
By the way...
..what is the difference between black, true black and lying toe-rag sort of black.... ::)...!
LOL...!
(R=0
G=0
B=0)....?

Cheers both...!
Paul....with a bit of a blind spot on base... 8)...!

That's it. You're not as clueless as you make out. ;)
Background/Foreground colour makes no difference providing you use the correct mouse button. Background is right-click.

Sorted...
Just poppin' in the Hangar now, overalls on, with a brush, and a tin of black Hammerite paint...
..let you know tomorrow how it went after the paint's dried... 8)...!

Cheers... ;)...!

Hi Ivan...
Thanks mate...!

Have you noticed that Mr. Pratt and Mr. Whitney have supplied me with an 8 cylinder radial engine, rather than the standard 9 cylinder engine which I specifically ordered... >:(...!

Hi Andrew, me ol' Bush flying mate... ;D...!
Pop over to..
http://www.avsim.com

and do a search for Beavers....DHC2.zip...
There is a complete set of them there, wheels, floats, etc..for FS 2002..!
also...
amongst the series of Beavers you will see a special panel download....
Read the instructions carefully and replace the default panel with the new one, (fiddly)...but .fantabulous results...!
To get the radios to work, poke around the radio areas with the mouse, to find the on/off switches.. ;)...!
...good luck...!

Cheers Andrew...!

(England).

P.S. You also get internal views all around the inside of the 'plane....Woo-Hoo.... ;D...!

This might be the cause of your problem. Installing a new panel shouldn't be fiddly at all. Rename the existing Panel folder to something like Panel.0. Then paste the new Panel folder straight in. Sorted......! ;)

This idea is a tad old-hat nowadays. Straight out of FS2000. :P ;)

Hi Hagar...
with this particular panel download there involves a bit of shufflin' around of bitmaps and gauges, etc, not quite like the usual simple way of doin' it...(which I'm pretty good at by now)... ;)...
but with care, and reading the instructions, it works fine.
(The prob with the 3/4, 2D view, panels are sumfin' else)... ;)...!
...join the "Bush Club"* and give it a try...!
LOL...!

...*nuffin' to do with George, or ladies private parts.. :o...!

Andrew, just don't do a search for Beaver on google!  At least not if your parents are in.

LOL

I might just do that. Updating a panel shouldn't be difficult at all & your problem still intrigues me. ::)

I'm already a member of your Bush club. In fact I was a founder member. :P ;)
