'Twas a cold, snowy day in Denver, but the schedule must go on!

This day was the first of several days of snows, and the airport eventually closed, but not before the mighty 777 could go!
Pushback...

Up we go, out of this blizzard!

Above the clouds and away to warmth!

the highest rated thrust is over 120,000lbs per engine. i cant remember who makes that one,  might be General Electric.

Thanks for the replies and comments guys!

About the 85,000 lbs of thrust, I guesstimated.
This I know, though:
GE is the maker of the world's most powerful jet engine, the GE-90-115B.  http://www.geae.com/ It puts our 115,300 lbs of thrust per engine at sea level.  WOW!  It is the engine on the 777-300ER.

United's 777s have Pratt & Whitneys on them, that I know for sure.

I just did some reaserch for this reply and found out this:
-The PW 4070/4080 series is an option for 777 engines (RR, PW, and GE all make 777 powerplants)
-The PW 4080 can put out up to 86,760 lbs of thrust per engine.    I was close!   ;D

That's all from here:
http://www.pratt-whitney.com/prod_comm_pw4000_112.asp

Glad you liked by wintery post!
