BWIA in the French Polynesian

It was a beautiful week full of sun, fun and tropical drinks, but it is time to fuel up this Boeing 737-800 and bring these weary vacationers home.

I push the levers to full throttle and the turbines start to spool.

As soon as we left the ground, I got a warning light on my #1 engine. This was the first time in my flying career I had ever had an engine failure!!!

The aircraft sunk alittle to one side, I adjusted accordingly and radioed the tower that I was declaring an emergency!!

I circled the beautiful waters off of Tahitii, discharging my fuel. The tower told me that they were taking emergency measures and asked me how many souls were aboard.

I told them 128 passengers and 4 crew members. I leveled her off and started my decent back to Tahitii International.

The pressure!!!
