New CFS3 Dauntless and GeeBee

I just picked these up at Sim-Outhouse today. We have another pacific wonder and a racing classic.

These first shots are of the new Beta SDB Dauntless available at Sim-Outhouse. This aircraft was made using the 1% method. One thing I really liked was the tail gun. Like the real Dauntless, you have to open the canopy to operate the tail gun. The plane looks great but lacks Alpha channel reflective textures. These were not added because the designer was haveing difficulty with the program that allows you to do this.

This is a close up of the Dauntless with Canopy closed and bomb hook down.

The Dauntless has a nice DVC compaired to some.

Finally the tail gun view with canopy open.

The GeeBee racing pack was another thing I picked up today at Sim-Outhouse. It's designed for multiplayer racing for CFS3 users. Sorry guys, the GeeBee is unarmed so no shooting down your fellow racers. It actually comes in 16 different liveries in 5 packs. I choose this one purely at random. This aircraft has stunning FS2002 quality alpha channel reflections. It is a highly acurate model complete with rotating rotery engine.

Very nice. What's the 1% method?

I think the folks at AvHistory can explain it better. Here's their explination of this method from their site.
This site is a celebration of flying and it's history. By combining the latest releases of the current Flight Sims and the 1% technology, we can now experience the thrill of flying from home computer. We can practice touch and goes in the pattern flying a General Aviation aircraft to navigating a 4-engine airliner across the country. Or explore BFM issues of fighters from WW1 to WW2 and even the early Jets, Turboprops and Rocket Powered aircraft.
The flight sim community has created many wonderful visual models for just about any aircraft you can think of. Because of the hard work of the Aviation Enthusiasts at AvHistory.org, developers can now create flight models for the computer that fly within 1% of the performance of their real world counterparts.
To achieve a fidelity that approaches +/-1%, we took a step back and approached the creation of flight models from a Historians point of view using Physics to generate the data for the flight model. The methodology we use is called the 1% Assembly Line Process.
The 1% process has given us a method to create very high fidelity flight models that perform within 1% of their real world counterparts. We're now beginning the next evolution in flight models that model the quirks or personality of the aircraft. To help achieve this, advisor's like the Planes of Fame Museum, have provided assistance to AvHistory to allow us to more accurately model the aircraft.

Nope.  CFS3's planes don't work with anything but CFS3.  I'm gonna check out those two beauties.
