A Century of Flight: Screenshots and Rave

I took a few quick screenshots of FS2004 last night.  Here they are.  Personally, I find this sim very impressive and I feel it wipes the floor with FS2002 n every possible way.  The GPS is much better, the ATC's cool now and I love the Learjet!  Also check out how good it looks on my system and then think that it still has better frame rates than FS2002 ever had! ;)

Hope you enjoyed them.

Not ramsa...I just cranked the settings on my graphics card and in FS2004 right up and hoped it worked...LOL.  Seems like it did. ;)  Turning on anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering at card level actually increases frame rates.  I use the 6.13.10.2942 drivers for my nVidia GeForce 3 Ti graphics card.  Another good and cheapish idea is to buy as much RAM as possible.  I have mine maxed out at 1024Mb DDR RAM.  The best place to buy it is www.crucial.com .

You heard 'Eat You Alive' yet?  If not...download it here: www.thearmpit.net .  It's only a limpbizkit fansite. :)

It really is great Craig.  DirectX 9a does CFS3 a treat too.  It's on the disk, so don't worry about that...my only complaint is that it took an hour and a half to install! ;D  The sim loads faster as do flights.  If you don't want to land at the default runway ATC asigns because of a crosswind or something, tell ATC to get stuffed and request landing at another runway. :D  Climb above turbulence and clouds by changing your cruising altitude in flight or (this is funny) put bad weather on and laugh at the VFR flights being refused take-off permision! ;D

I sound so much like a M$ advertisment...but it's all true!  Oh, how do you like the Oshkosh scenery?  Default!  And there's an open barn to fly through as one of the short flights...LOL...there's some chickens in too! ;D

PS:  The DSB Tornado's work in it (they look as good as the Lago one now, BTW) and so does the B-1B Lancer. :D

I must admit that these are some of the nicest FS2004 shots I have seen so far. I hate to say it but I have honestly thought that most of the shots people have been posting so far have looked pretty crappy.  I mean no disrespect to anyone or the new game, but they have not appealed to me. In an earlier thread someone posted shots of Hong Kong in FS2004. Another person replied with his own duplicate shots in FS2002. I have to say that the 2002 shots looked more realistic. I have noticed that almost all the FS2004 shots, until now, have looked very 'cartoony!' I am sure that you must have an excellent system Whitney, your shots are far superior to most I have seen. Needless to say, I have been very hesitant to pick up the new product so far and it is nice to see some shots that don't look like...
" a cheesy oil painting that you would see at a garage sale!!!"
Thanks
Eric (this was just my 2 cents)

JPEG is worthless if it's about detail preserving...

usually it looks better when viewed on-screen than in any compressed screenshot on this forum.

Wow. What airport is that in the one with the Extra 300?
Is that default scenery?

probably they added the oskosh scenery as default (as they did with the hawaii scenery in fs98 )
i'm gonna find it out myself as soon as we cleaned up our holiday mess

Yes, it's Oshkosh.  Go to Flights and select the one with the Extra. ;)
