The water textures are at thier best in ACOF in extreme lighting conditions.  Which shows here.

best,

You're thinking of Dutch Harbour?? Anyway my interest was in the cloud formation combination although that water does look great!
I'm one of those holding off on 2004 with a preference for 2006 and an upgrade but I could have my mind changed.
Would someone be prepared to upload some cloud shots at various times??
Cheers :)

Red on White you're alright.

Red on Red you'll soon be dead.

Yeah...... the weather effects are great.  The sky, clouds, and horizon improvements are incredible.  And the turbulence is a really nice addition.

The water is a "mixed" review for me.  In extreme light conditions it looks great.  The wave effects on the shore are much better.  But in "average" light....... the general water surface is always too much of a robin's egg blue on my monitor.

If you haven't tried it, so the "Anchorage" scenario in the "Short Hops"  part of the "Select a Flight" section.  Some great effects with weather.

best,

.............john

PS: Sorry about the number  ;).

Crickman,

Just about every slider is maxed and checkbox is checked.  Anti Aliasing and Angiotropic filtering is being handled by the ATI card.

It is actually a tad better on the monitor...cause the resolution was reduced to 800 wide here.

best,

............john

PS:  I still have some frame rate issues in heavily populated areas (big cities) with large amounts of AI traffic at international type airports.    The detail and quality of the visuals is outstanding ....but the framerates drop below 15 FPS...... what I consider the mimimum acceptable to actually fly the aircraft.
