Well, let me tell ya. Those pics were with settings pretty well maxed out.  ;D

I went and ordered a DELL Demension XPS Gamer. You can't buy them off the shelf as DELL only builds them to order. As far as I am concerned, it is the best deal out there as far as gaming machines go for the simple reason that, unlike Alien Ware and other " Gaming Machine" builders, DELL has the manufacturing quantity in Desktops and other products to help keep prices down on their gaming machines.

Specs are:

DELL XPS Gamer  Pentium 4 @ 2.8 Ghz 800 Mhz FSB /512K L2 Cache

80 GB Ultra ATA/100

XP Home with SP1

512 MBs of DDR SDRAM @ 400 Mhz

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MBs

Sound Blaster Audigy with Altec Lansing Surround sound speakers.
17" NEC Multisync LCD 1700V Monitor.

I couldn't be more pleased with the order process, build and delivery process, and the product itself. They delivered what they promised, a real performing gaming machine.

Great framerates in those locations!!!!!!  :o

Where is you AI traffic setting?

I am beginning to think that one KEY factor in this frame rate thing is the speed of the front side buss and the size of the processor's cache.... not as much the amount of RAM in general.

Hum........  but that doesn't explain the lower end machines doing about as well as the higer end ones, does it?  Unless it is becasue those with lower end machines tend to have settings a little lowwer than fully maxed out....and that makes the difference.

I just installed Direct X 9.0b from the Microsoft site ..... and saw basically no difference in frame rates that I could really discern.  MAYBE got 1 FPS more.... but that is SO subjcetive to test.

best,

:o FS2004 Has some very nice crisp looking graphics in it. That really wows me, unfortunately I am running a slower computer so I don't know If this machine can achieve those wonderful graphics.

Pentium3 500mhz
40 gig hard drive
350 mb of memory
64 mb Nvidia 3 graphic card

I have the system requirements to use it, But I definately don't have to power to run such neat O graphics that is why I am stuck with FS2002 until I buy new powerful rig sometime (next year) >:(

You guys have fun with it, it looks hot!  :'(
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!
