Airshow buildup training

Well Hawker Tempest (Roger) and myself began our workup training for the airshow this morning (before the missus cut off the power!).
We've found a few problems with the aircraft (Spitfire XIV, available here on page 9 of vintage downloads) handling and performance wise.
We kept overshooting each other!!! I'm spending most of the weekend flying her now to get used to the Griffon engine (yuck)!
So these are the 2 best shots I got.... Sad huh

We're looking for a third victim err pilot to join us, if you're interested let me know.....

Ozzy 8)

PS. The static prop on Rogers Spit is because you can't see effects from another computer in MP, so no rotors, props or smoke.... :'(

I somehow doubt it Ken. Its a v.minor issued compared to some, and most online pilots are jet drivers. So we prop and rotorhead types get left on the sideline. I don't think it would be too hard to do, but I don't work for M$ and my programming skills are somewhat limited......

I would volounteer but it looks like you've already got 2 potential victims, that and I'm going kinda mental with my EFA routine ;D.

This will take a bit of getting used to because I'm not normally a formation flyer, but it will be fun to do and I'm quit looking forward to the airshow (always wanted to be on the live side of the crowd line!)
Ozzy likes his Merlins but I'm a Griffon man through and through ;)

Just one thing I noticed from your shots Mark, I chose to fly the SEAC version because I guessed you would fly the RAAF version. However, from my point of veiw, you had the same plane as me but in your shots they are clearly the two different versions. Not a problem, just a bit strange.

You can just see that Ozzy's plane looks the same as mine!

Roger, whomever takes the screenshots needs to have both planes loaded in the sim or they just can't show onscreen........

I love to formation fly in Flight Sim, much more fun then flying from airport to airport, if you want qualifications i've got them. Virtual RAF the old one which you probably dont know about. Lots of formation there. Do a lot of flying with one of my friends well used to, we had some awesome formations. I have been in a couple Virtual Squadrons not so much formation but when we did we did it good.

That's the odd thing about it Ken because all three paint jobs come in one package and I'm using the exact same one (page 9 2K2 vintage) as Mark.

There are in fact 4 skins with this model, I was using the Photo Recce one Roger, not the RAAF one.
For the airshow there will be a list of the planes needed to be downloaded to see everything at the show.
Eire is sorting that at the moment.

now i'm thinking of it...i also want to be the third pilot...i was already planning to form a display team (with the DSB Typhoon) and was looking for a (serious) guy to do this with me...anyway i guess you already found that third guy but maybe in the future i would be fun to do a formation with the Spitfire and the ET at the VRIAT 2004...

Ah, mine only has three, RAAF and two SEAC versions. You must let me know where to get the other skin, although it does look like my RAAF version. But like I said before, it's not really a problem.

good! it doesn't have to be the ET, other planes (like F-16 or so) are also good. if anyone else wants to join the display team...please say it!

what i want to do is: i'd like to practice with some guys a show...like the ones they do on real airshows. i know it will be very very difficult to do this with a flightsim...much more difficult than in real life. therefore we have to train alot... we must start learning the basics (like formation flying). after that we can try to study a show and afterwards it's just practice and practice and...
so if anyone thinks this is a good idea...please say it! suggestions are also welcome!
