A few gratuitous CFS3 shots, only Merlin engined aircraft allowed...

Nice shots Mark, but I'm not too keen on those drop tanks on the Spit. Although tested with Mustang tanks, they fouled the airflow and caused underwing damage at high speed. Apart from the famous "Beer Barrel" MkIX, most wartime Spits used the "Slipper tank" under the center line.

You are of course perfectly correct Roger. I've got some happy snaps of the Beer Barrel, and a wonderful description of the handling by the pilot in one of my Spit books. It made me laugh like a drain!
