Ok, i'm bored.. school's over, and i'm waiting for flight school to start.. i have a bit of money.. what do i do? i go get the MiG-21!!!

Man, that is a sweet looking plane. The fourth and seventh shots looks like photographs. In fact, if I hadn't seen them here, I might have thought they were.

Well they didn't buy it direct! I believe some russian equipment including the Mig and Mi24 Hind together with some russian radars made their way to the US through the back door probably being exchanged for trade or money or something?! There was a secret squadron within the USAF called Redhat (I think) they flew the soviet types.

Yes the USAF flies some Mi-24D Hinds from old soviet republics. Here in the US we love the German MiG-29's, they come and train with the US Navy.
