A6-E Carrier Ops

Postby grover » Thu Mar 06, 2003 10:59 pm

I cant get enough of Arrestor Cables in FS2002, so yesterday I did some carrier ops with Rick Sasala's excellent Gmax A6E. Flying off the Lybian coast and doing run in flights at low level, it was great fun. I even managed to trap without collapsing the undercaridge or flying into the back of the boat.

my machines biggest problem is if i get over 300 knots it tends to quit rendering the ground (or water) textures ::) in other words by time i would have gotten back to the carrier the water would have been blurry and the ground would have never looked as good as yours. I suffer when flying military a/c which is what i love.

I know it is a bind, but have you thought about pausing the game for a few seconds to give it time to catch up?

If you realy want to get the best from your PC though, get in touch with ramsa, he will help you get the best from your machine if you have the patience and the time. It realy is worth it, mine is amazing since I followed his advice......Am I getting paid for this ramsa ?  ;)

To get the area around you to re-render, you can also pause, hit the R key and then the plus key to speed up the game to 8x, then the - key, and it will re-render your view.

To get rid of that all you do is simply lock the frame rates to for examply 25. I lock mine to 25 as quite frankly there is no difference in smoothness of the game (that eyeball Mk 1 cannot detect) - i have never had that problem since i locked the frame rates.

A very valid point, I have mine locked at 20fps.

Those shots are sweet especially the second one and the last one. I've done the same type of flights with the A-6 into Libya but my landings need some work. Nice job!The ArrCab setup is great.
