On the 20th May 1927 at 11:52 Charles Lindburgh after a sleepless night, sets off on an attempt to become the first pilot to fly accross the Atlantic ocean non-stop.....

11:52 GMT, approx. Just clearing the telegraph poles at Roosevelt field, Long island.

22:00 GMT, approx. 300ft/92mph leaving Newfoundland for the open expanse of the Atlantic.

Somewhere over the Atlantic, making a correction in navigation.

Somewhere over the Atlantic, flying into bad weather.

15:00 GMT, approx. 500ft/95mph approaching the coast of Ireland.

19:00 GMT, approx.

Andrew, do you believe that I would take these pics without flying the entire journey? Shame on you I am deeply hurt ;) I relish the idea of staring at my monitor for 30+ hours due to the fact there was no AutoPilot installed back in the Golden Years when Lindburgh made his flight, no consideration for us simmers huh, lol

Great replication of the 1st Flight across the Atlantic!!
Love the people hanging around the airfields!
