Thank you.

Somewhere in my past, I recall a misty dawn similar to those. I don't remember if it was in Virginia or Vermont though.

I used to do a lot of backpacking in the mountains. Getting up just before sunrise was a pleasure, no alarm needed. :D

Beautiful shots OldAirmail!
It's funny that you mention photo-real scenery - I wasn't a big fan of it until I got my hands on MegaSceneryEarth's version of New York State. The only I reason I bought it was because it was 40% off this weekend. BIG FILES! Zipped, they weigh in at 27 GB...
Also, only ONE season (looks like spring) and NO night lighting. I do have UTX, so that places a few "lights" in towns and roads. I understand that Aerosoft is currently offering night-lighting environments to specifically enhance photoreal scenery. I might have to pick that up if they make one for NYS.
Up close, no, it don't look too good. But from about 3000 ft AGL and up (sweet spot for me is about 6000 - 9000 ft AGL), I'm very impressed! Since it's photoreal, I can see my house, and yes, it looks just like my house in the spring (the pool is still covered).
Another good thing, just like you said, is the framerates and smoothness the photoreal scenery provides (less autogen, I'm assuming)! I have my framerate in FSX set to 40 and it almost always stays very close to that.
For me, the tradeoffs are acceptable. Now, though, it looks like (again, like you said) I'll have to start collecting detailed airport scenery to make the landings look good.
I too will be downloading some stuff from BlueSky Scenery - can't wait to see what the Strip looks like from 5000 ft!

I have a new Cessna Centurion that needs to go for a spin - I'll post some pics flying around NY.

Again, nice pics and thanks for sharing!
