Yes, using recorder you can increase the camera distance from the craft without changing the zoom level and saving you from fish-eye.
You can also zoom out to include a wider field of vision, taking in more scenery and then move the craft closer to the camera so that it doesn't look too far off.
The pan controls are a combination of Ctrl, Shift and Enter and Backspace.
