I have FS 9 at max, shouldnt I be able to run FSX quite well?

depends on your specs. i got single core 1.65 ghz and 1 gig ram and you probably wont even recognize the graphics card i have

Not quite.
FSX needs:
- much more video memory, because it deisplays much more different (and bigger) textures at a time
- much more CPU power, because the displayed scenery and planes are much more complex
not to mention the new visual effects...
