Sorry to bump this again but wanted to answer Ashaman:

Fact is and remains that flying outside Australia one should uninstall VOZ's custom texture or accept... oddnesses in ground rendition.

From that my question as before: What has VOZ and Australia to do with the Fuji in Japan? ???

If the flight was a long haul started in Australian territory, one could understand, but I highly doubt that the YS-11 has the autonomy to make it to the Fuji, it it takes off from Kangaroo Continent. ;D ;)

Why VOZ and Fuji? Because I need freeware textures for the competitions, and VOZ is the easiest to use. I don't think I have any default textures left, and Lennart's and Bluesphere have got lost somewhere.

I have never been to Japan, and don't mind if it doesn't look exactly like Japan should from the air - the default certainly didn't either, I'm sure. And VOZ looks very nice.....I haven't noticed any unusual oddness. VOZ southeast is okay for me in Europe, the US east coast and South Africa too... anyway, I don't usually bother too much about doing what I 'should' - I like making pictures, I'm not a serious simmer. ;)

No problem at all, mine was a curiosity and nothing else, o follower of the great Hokusai. ;)

I myself love Australia (though I'm unable at the moment to find a freeware mesh for it), and at times would like to fly in it at its best, shame that VOZ has to fight against the unreasonable limitations of FS and creates some situations that are next to chaotic, with texture management. ::)

You know what I mean in this instance. To make an example, taking off from Sydney and going to Darwin, the kind of territories you fly over and land in are as different as they can get, and VOZ works at its best if you remain in one area. :)

And while I might be pleased to go VFR sometimes, I only do it where I know the lay of the land... this pretty much excludes almost all the world beside a very restricted part of Europe. Outside Europe I usually fly with the instruments (though not quite like in the movie "Airplane" ;D) and on longish routes.

There is no other way around though, and VOZ is the best tool in this area (and its free too, thing this of no little importance). I have only praises toward VOZ. Not so many praises I have instead toward the limitations of FS. :-/

We all must make due.

Hey, thanks. :)

To say I searched there too uselessly. They should really upgrade their search engine.

Downloading now.
