Very nice model. I dont like the VC its impossible to say its more like being there to me as its still on a flat screen, no matter how much 3d effect they try to add there is still no perception of depth.

I can see a structure in your post Craig, but could you please rephrase that? I've got difficulties understanding it. :/

Basically, although the view is somewhat 3D, it still lacks the feeling of being there because it lacks the actual depth of real life flying. I dont feel like i can reach out and touch the dials or hold the controls. Which is the idea behind the VC. Any better? if not i really cant word it any better. Very tired:)

Okay, much better. :)

But what's better? Just opening up e.g. the throttle panel on your 2D panel and click a switch or pan your view downwards and do it like a real pilot by operating switches that'd also be at the same location in the real aircraft?
The camera is practically your head and the mouse is your hands. You can operate the aircraft more realistically and you can set every "head angle" you want instead of sticking to predefined ones. This is especially useful when you're trying to keep track of other traffic or a runway.

I generally dont open up the various windows. I use the buttons on the panel and have the other main operations assigned to my joystick and throttle. In the end its a personal preferance you have your likes and i have mine. No-one is forcing either of use to use one or the other:)

I actually have real trouble landing in the VC. I think that is cos i set the zoom to 0.31. Does anyone else do that? Otherwise it takes ages to pan around the cockpit.

Really nice shots Mistral, do you by chance have the link to this airplane. ;)

Ever since I got TrackIR, it's been hard to fly anything with out a VC, but I still do it, some really excellent aircraft don't have a VC and I will still fly them.  I have my zoom set to .50, it just seems the most realistic when I fly the FS9 172, so I use it for just about everything, unless I can't see the guages or something.

Aye, Craig. Each to his own.

Mistral, I've got my zoom set to 0.64. This is the best setting for VCs. If it's still too close, I recommend moving the eyeoint a bit backwards.

Mobius, Avsim certainly has this aircraft.

Can't give u a link due to Avsims site format, but just search for 'citation' in the Fs2004 Original Aircraft section' and it comes up. ( there are three versions on avsim with different textures)

Thats another problem with some VC's, even when the game is set on its highest res' it is still impossible to read certain gauges, so you have to zoom in.

I highly recommend downloading F1 View from www.flight1.com since this tool makes it possible to control the movement of your viewpoint by mouse.

Sounds cool, but not with the frame rates my pc achieves.

Foxhound, have you ever used any of the e-dimentional 3-d glasses with head trackers??? If not i'm sure they'd be right up your alley. ;)

Nah. That's that kind of extra equipment that I consider relatively unnecessary, just like the TrackIR stuff.
