:) ;) :D ;D

yup

Hornets and Hawk are actually AI, only hte F-14B is not, I've repainted Dno cataneo's GMAX F-14 in Brasilian Navy Scheme (ok ok, "what if....") there a Vinka too (AI)
the pack can be found at avsim and its name is fafai_v1.zip.
All the AI flights were meant to be in Finnland, but I've figured out.....er..err...almost :{ how to change 'em to Brasil (SBSJ)
That's it

cya!

btw, what are the main differences between AI and a regular a/c???

what makes an AI become an AI??

[quote]

from what I've read on other forums AI planes have no gauges to keep the frame rate hit down and also LOD, level of detail is lower.
If there is an airshow with in 2 states of me I'm there

"AI" means 'Artificial Intelligence'. If you have a computer controlled aircraft in your flightsim, It's an AI aircraft. There are some aircraft which are AI only. They are optimized for AI use

Thanks Plane & Andrew 4 your answers...

Andrew

I know this lil difference pal, what I'm tryin' exactly to know is this: can I make a regular a/c become an AI?
this LOD Plane said was built within the model I suppose, is it correct?

Hi Foo Fighter,

You can make any aircraft model into AI. If you want you could make Kirk Olssen's new F16 into AI or even a Meljet 777. There is only one problem. Your framerates will get killed. The reason is LOD (level of detail). Basically those plane are very detailed and use more polygons to construct, therefore they steal more resources. As they become further away from you in the game, they also retain their quality. So they appear clear even at great distances. Again stealing resources and killing framerates.

To put it simply. The less detailed, the better for AI and the better for framerates. AI aardvark and PAI (project AI) are 2 sites that you could have a look at. They design models specifically for AI. Meaning low LOD. Also there models are optimized to appear even less detailed as they move further away from your viewpoint. Again, meaning much better frame rates.

One last thing. Planes, like the ones in the Finnish airforce package don't come with panels, because you don't need them!

So the short answer to your question is 'yes' you can use any plane you want. Just realize that you may be watching a slide show if you use a detailed model.

Hope that helped
Eric

Hi Erick

COurse U've helped me a lot!

Ok ok thanks pal

One think that came to my mind now, fs98's a/c can be used inside fs2004? I think they're LOD, aren't they?

Seeing those screen shots gives me the urge to buy COF but I'm saving up for a new video card (Required Item) Probably a GeForce FX 5200 (256mb version).
AMD Athlon 64 3700+
GeForce FX5200 256Mb
1GB DDR400 DC
Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD
Windows XP Professional X64 Edition

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

Some can, but remember they will still eat frame rates, some FDEs simply may not be compatible as AI, and undercarrage will not show
