Craig, the demo download is around 20mb, this should only take about an hour on a 56k modem, I know because I have the same connection.
I'm guessing that you also have a 2 hour cut off, if so go to this page
http://www.getright.com/ and download the free Programme called "GetRight 4.5e" this will allow you to pause the download, reconnect and then resume at a later date where you left off. You can also ask it to segment the download into smaller pieces and download them from different sites at the same time to speed the "dl" up. Whether the latter realy works on a 56k connection I am not sure but it is still a very useful programme. There are many programmes out there that do the same, so if this is not the one for you, do a bit of searching.
