Back to Basics

Postby Flying Trucker » Tue Jan 26, 2016 7:01 pm

Goodly evening all... <<q

I like to do a little simulated flying without all that fancy electronics and Navigation equipment once in awhile.

Here is just the bugsmasher to do it in...nothing fancy, no radios, all one needs is some snow, a good snowmobile suit, red flannel long johns, bottle of Apricot Brandy or Cherry Whiskey and some time on one's hands...

Short Cross Country:

CEN4...High River Regional...Alberta, Canada
TO
CEJ4 ..Claresholme Industrial...Alberta Canada

Not more than a hours flight in a round about way...Direct is only 28 minutes in the Champ... <<u

Aircraft: CR-1 Aeronca Champ-Ski
Season: Winter
Time: Early morning...no lights on bugsmasher

Here are a couple of shots of the first quarter hour of the cross country...did a couple of ski touch and goes...shut down...got into the Cherry Whiskey...will let you know when I finish the simulated flight...   :violin:

Image

Good reason why an aircraft needs some colour...see how that white blends in with the snowy ground...imagine a crash and an all white aircraft in the winter...almost impossible to spot...

Comments and advice most welcome... ;)

Three's my favorite.

I'll go along with the simple aircraft, Doug. But sometimes you need a little camouflage, especially in the enemies' territory.

Mr. Flying Trucker I would love to come fly along with basic aircraft.

But since the last time my great grandpa flying basic aircraft. To prove his point that he can fly around the world less than 80 days. We have not seen him more than 45 years, and still counting.
Some unknown person sending these pictures that spot him somewhere in Alaska.

Nice version of the travel, pilotwin7. The pilot must be frozen... I see him stationary... <<q
