I'm not showing off the helicopter (Aerosoft SH-60)

This thread is about the Javier's Carrier which IS freeware. Thanks for pointing that out though ;)

I don't think it matters. There is payware in the shot. 8-)

No need to get upset. The freeware screenshots section is for showing screnshots containing only freeware elements.
For screenshots containing payware elements, there is the payware screenshot section. I don't see the problem.

No no, I was referring to DaveSHQ, but he deleted his answer.
And finally it looks like he was really upset  :-/

I'm not surprised he was upset. The rules on Payware in screenshots have always puzzled me. I find it very difficult to figure out the reason most shots are posted in the Payware forum. That's the main reason I rarely visit that section of the forum. I'm sure that the impression casual visitors will get is that the aircraft featured in the shots is Payware when in many cases it's not. Perhaps it would help if the posters mentioned what is actually Payware in their shots.

Yes indeed.

For some time now it has become ridiculous that because 'some element of payware' may be involved in a shot that is about freeware it should go into the payware screenshots forum.

We are currently working on this. It will be changed.

The plan is either to merge the 2 forums (if that's possible) or have the payware forum simply to showcase payware specifically.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

It can be confusing... :-[....

..on the extremely rare occasions when I post a shot in the Free-ware Section, (too busy "flying"!), of Free-ware/Default Aircraft, they often include my background scenery designed by myself, with the aid of my Pay-ware LAGO FSE and Abacus EZ Scenery design programs, so I'm never quite sure whether its allowed, or not!

Paul..G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and a Cement Mixer... 8-)...!

Perhaps the merge might be a good idea, actually.
One of the many purposes of the screenshot sections is to help members discovering the various available addons that they were maybe unaware of.

The separation of categories makes sense in the contests, where it's quite logical to differentiate freeware, payware and edited. But for everyday's screenshots...

Thanks Pete. Glad you see my point. I hope something can be worked out.

Merging the freeware and payware sections, while maintaining a separate edited section sounds smart.  :)

It may also make people specify what's featured in the images too.

I my opinion, keeping freeware & payware separate does have advantages.

Point well taken.  As for me, I have used the comparisons as a learning point in the 3+ years I have been a member.  The separation has been a valuable resource for me but I am one member out of ??? thousand.
