Young Fozzer

Postby ozzy72 » Wed Jan 14, 2004 2:32 pm

Finally from the RFC archives come snaps of our v.own Fozzer, circa Jan. 1917 Antwerp.....
Hooning around in the morning air

Suddenly he spots that most dangerous of enemies, an unguarded bottle of plonk :o

Navigating by pubs
Image
Off into the sunset
Image
According to Pauls former CO "Fozzer would frequently shoot down a dozen aircraft with a single burst, but we had to divide the number of aircraft by the number of bottles he'd consumed with his gourmet lunch to get realistic statistics" ;D

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Love the sunset pic and the silhouette of the triplane. Befitting for such a bird!

...took a while to get used to the spinning rotary engine, but quick left-hand rolls catch the Hun out every time...!
..and always remember to give it a boot-full of rudder pedal on take off.. ;).... 8)...!

Off to the Mess now for a couple of beers with the lads and show them the bullet holes in the canvas, and then paint some more aeroplanes kills on the fuslague... ;)...!

Never a dull moment... ;D...!

Tally-ho chaps, wizard prang, and all that sort of thing... 8)...!

Paul.

...a few years further on, 1930's... 8)...!
No more flailing rotary engines.
An oily, but reliable Gypsy Major engine now in a Tiger Moth.
...just as draughty tho'... ::)...!
