Anyway, so I'm about 10 miles out from my approach and I couldn't see the runway at all even though ATC told me I should be picking up a visual on it. About 6 or 7 miles out I realized the lights I picked up in the distance were leading to my runway, number 32, and I was coming in to it in the wrong direction!!

After heavily banking right, I brought her back around to the left, I was nervous that I was going to waste the landing. It was too late to save the game, which I usually forget to do anyway.

Nearly a few yards from the ground and the runway I was still banking. I was preparing to crash this heavy bird.

I got her pretty well lined up and I slowly nudged her back to the right.

Well, I'll be damned! I managed to bring her down perfectly!!! It wound up being the smoothest visual landing of my entire life and the first time I ever visually landed her on the center line!

This just goes to show you how much more gratifying visual landings are. They're the best when you take off IFR and land at a runway that doesn't have ILS. Nassau Intl's runway 14 (the one i landed on, but the opposite way) had an ILS frequency and I was tempted to bring her in using the instruments but I chose not to. Boy, am I glad I went at it manually!
isn't this game addictive!?
