Part 1: DC-10  Miami Intl- Luis Munoz, San Juan

Postby BeukStylez03 » Mon Mar 22, 2004 3:45 pm

It's a beautiful late afternoon here in Miami.  We began pushing back from the gate at approximately 1605 hours and we found ourselves 3rd in line for takeoff.  By 1615 we were in the air, a rather shallow ascent I must say, but a pretty one nonetheless.  The DC-10 is one of my favorite aircraft because I consider it very picturesque.

As I lifted off I heard a family in first class commenting on how small the palm trees were getting as we got higher.  Their child was especially impressed and excited.

ATC ordered me to bring her to level her off at 9,000 as we cleared the airport.  Here all the passengers saw where our plane took off merely 5 minutes prior at Miami Intl.

At about FL170-- goodbye Florida, heck, goodbye USA!

Still climbing to FL300.  Catching a glimpse here and there of a scattered island or two.

Gotta love the wingviews on this bird.  Here I am making some final adjustments as we level off at FL300.  We've travelled a little over 100 miles from Miami at this point, with only about 750 more or so to go.  Time to kick my heels up!

Ooooops!  Not so fast!  ATC gives me one more adjustment before I can rest easy.  The sun is getting a little lower now...looks like it'll be a nice dusk/evening arrival at Luis Munoz Intl in San Juan, Puerto Rico!

I'll hit you up with some more shots after I land!  =]
