New Mexico Sunsets

Postby jay_the_pilot » Sun Mar 07, 2004 10:59 pm

Hello all.  I was watching one of our beautiful sunsets we have in my part of the country (no trees to block the sky maybe?) and decided to try to recreate it in the simulator.  If you're wondering, "my part of the country" is central eastern New Mexico, on the edge of the plains right before the desert mountains.  We're close enough to Texas (8 miles) that we consider ourselves in the Texas panhandle.  The real sunsets are a thousand times more beautiful, but I thought I'd post these anyway.  This is the first time I've taken screenshots, so constructive criticism would be nice.

This is on an actual route of Southwest, as the KLBB to KABQ flight routes them right above the town.

I changed aircraft because the southwest textures aren't very high quality.  My hat's off to the guy that painted this plane.  It's very detailed.

I noticed that once you convert from .bit to .jpeg that resolution gets pretty grainy.  Once again, I'd like some tips.
