Ferrying a Junkers JU-52 - Part 6

Postby BFMF » Sun Feb 29, 2004 2:07 am

I quickly refueled the aircraft, and after doing my pre-flight inspection using my flashlight, I started the aircraft up, taxied to the runway and took off. After leaving the pattern, I turned on course and climbed up to cruising altitude.

While at cruise level, I tried drinking my cofee, but it wasn't even lukewarm by now so I just sat back and did
my best to keep awake.

Things were uneventfull untill I left Vancouver Island, then I started to encounter a lot of moderate to severe turbulence. I could no longer just keep the aircraft trimmed, I had to fight the winds all the way over to Port Angeles. Atleast it helped keep me busy and alert.

I landed at the Port Angeles airport at 1012Z time, taxied to the parking and shut everything down. It was late and I was tired.

After almost 21 hours of total flying time, the Junkers JU-52 aircraft is finally at Port Angeles.

One way to keep you awake is slapping yourself on the cheek every time you're close to fall asleep. ;D
